Factors & calculation boundaries
Activity × factor ÷ 1,000 = tonnes CO₂e. UK Government 2026 revised flat file: electricity generated 0.13096 kg/kWh; natural gas (gross calorific value) 0.18231 kg/kWh; average car, unknown fuel 0.16591 kg/km; UK national rail 0.03092 kg/passenger km; short-haul flights to/from the UK, economy, including radiative forcing 0.12576 kg/passenger km. Flight selections use economy factors including radiative forcing: short-haul UK 0.12576; long-haul UK 0.11704; international non-UK 0.10916 kg/passenger km. Car selections: unknown 0.16591; petrol 0.16152; diesel 0.17265; non-plug-in hybrid 0.12961 kg/km. Include return flight distance. These are selected operational factors, not lifecycle totals.
Uses 2026 factors for UK activity. Choose the appropriate reporting year and activity categories for formal reporting. Construction, food, purchases, waste, water, refrigerants and upstream fuel emissions are excluded. Business results group gas and company-car travel in Scope 1, electricity in Scope 2, and selected travel in Scope 3; vehicle ownership and actual fuels must be confirmed for formal reporting.

Compare your entered footprint with a simple reduction scenario. These sliders reduce activity quantities; they do not predict equipment savings or claim avoided emissions from a project.
Rail remains unchanged. Replacement journeys and rebound effects are excluded. Compare like-for-like annual activity.
